The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted Adams Mahama Issahaku, the headmaster of Piina Senior High School in the Upper West Region, following a directive from the Director-General.
The interdiction, which takes immediate effect, is in connection with an ongoing investigation into allegations that food items were discovered in Mr. Issahaku’s official pick-up vehicle while he was traveling from Piina SHS to Wa on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
A letter dated February 7, signed by Razak Z. Abdul-Korah, the Upper West Regional Director of GES, emphasized that the interdiction is a standard procedure and does not equate to guilt.
GES assured stakeholders of a fair and thorough investigation, stating that Mr. Issahaku would be informed of the findings and any subsequent actions.
As part of the directive, he has been instructed to hand over the administration of the school, along with all official property, to the Upper West Regional Director of Education.
Additionally, he is expected to fully cooperate with the investigation and avoid any actions that could disrupt the process.
The GES reaffirmed its dedication to transparency and accountability within the education sector, urging all parties involved to comply with the directives to ensure a smooth and impartial inquiry.
