President John Dramani Mahama has confirmed that findings from the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee will be submitted to investigative agencies for action against individuals suspected of misappropriating state resources.
Speaking during his Thank You tour of the Central Region on Thursday, February 6, 2025, Mahama revealed that the committee is set to present its report next week. He reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to fighting corruption, both within his government and in previous administrations.
“Next week, the ORAL Committee that I set up is going to present its report to me. I will refer it to the investigative organizations to begin their investigations against those who have misappropriated the resources of this nation,” he stated.
Mahama reassured Ghanaians that his government will prioritize the interests of all citizens, not just a select few, emphasizing that accountability remains a core principle of his leadership.
He also reaffirmed plans to introduce a robust accountability framework and a code of conduct for public officials. He stressed that the same ethical standards will apply to both former and current government officials.
“Even as we investigate those who have just left office and carry out our Operation Recover All Loot, those currently in office should know that they will be held to the same standard,” he asserted.
Mahama’s remarks signal a firm stance on governance and transparency, reinforcing his administration’s pledge to restore public trust in state institutions.
