The General Transport, Petroleum and Chemical Workers Union (GTPCWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) Ghana has urged President John Mahama to direct the police to apprehend individuals responsible for invading and destroying state properties, particularly in the petroleum and energy sector.
Speaking at a press conference today Bernard Owusu, national Chairman of GTPCWU, expressed concerns over risk exploitation and misappropriation in the sector, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability.
To facilitate an inquiry, GTPCWU is prepared to submit relevant documentation to the President’s office, highlighting key issues and requests.
The union specifically mentioned institutions such as the Power Authority, Ghana Gas, and others, where innocent staff were attacked without provocation.
GTPCWU emphasized its commitment to strong democratic principles, unity, and transparency, calling on the President to take swift action against the perpetrators.
