Reverend Ransford Obeng, the General Overseer of the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) in Kumasi, has expressed deep sorrow over the recent killings of residents in Obuasi. The incident involved clashes between the military and individuals who illegally entered AngloGold Ashanti’s mining concession.
Speaking on the matter at a press conference, Reverend Obeng described the incident as “very pathetic,” extending his condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones.
“The Obuasi incident is very pathetic, especially for those who have lost their loved ones. May the Lord console you,” Reverend Obeng said.
He emphasized the importance of unity and lawfulness, urging Ghanaians to prioritize the nation’s welfare and abide by its laws to ensure development.
“We are all Ghanaians, and we should understand that Ghana comes first in everything. So, let’s all be law-abiding citizens rather than illegally claiming what does not belong to us. If we abide by the nation’s laws, we will see the development we all want. So, let’s help the president to build the nation and let’s pray for him,” he added.
The CCC leader’s remarks come amid public outrage and grief over the tragic event, which has reignited debates about land use and law enforcement in Ghana.
Start Well Conference 2025
In addition to addressing the Obuasi killings, Reverend Obeng announced an upcoming event, the Start Well Conference 2025, organized by the Calvary Charismatic Center.
Scheduled to take place from 23rd to 25th January 2025 at the CCC auditorium in Ayigya, the conference will feature renowned speakers including Pastor Mensah Otabil and Pastor Isaiah Fosu Kwakye, with Reverend Ransford Obeng as the host.
The Start Well Conference aims to inspire individuals to begin the year on a high note through spiritual growth, motivational teachings, and prayer sessions.
“This conference is an opportunity for everyone to come together, be inspired, and equip themselves for a successful year ahead,” Reverend Obeng said, inviting the public to attend.
The CCC continues to play a pivotal role in providing spiritual leadership and promoting unity and development in Ghana.
