The Ghana Police Service has announced temporary road closures in parts of the capital, Accra, ahead of President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
According to ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, head of public affairs directorate for Ghana Police Service, the road closures are part of the security arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful inauguration.

– _Castle route from AU Circle to Osu Cemetery traffic light_
– _Cross route to Starlet 91 streets_
– _Independence Square_
– _Gamel Abdul Nasser Road_
– _Opeibea to 37 Interchange_
– _Ako Adjei_
– _Liberation Road_
The police are urging the general public, especially motorists, to cooperate and ensure a free flow of traffic during the inauguration ceremony.
