The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is urgently calling upon the international community, civil society organizations, media outlets, and democracy advocates to lend their support to the Electoral Commission (EC) as it works to finalize the impending re-collation process.
This plea comes in the midst of escalating tensions surrounding the delayed announcement of results in various constituencies during the 2024 polls.
The NPP has accused the opposition party, NDC, of disrupting the electoral process, resulting in the current deadlock.
During a press conference, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader of Parliament, revealed that a deputy communication officer from the NDC had allegedly threatened to mobilize 5,000 individuals to incite chaos at the police training school.
The NPP is urging the international community, civil society organizations, media outlets, and democracy advocates to stand in solidarity with the EC as it completes the collation process.
