Deputy Chairman of Operations for the Electoral Commission (EC), Mr. Samuel Tettey, has urged political parties to rein in their supporters, citing recent incidents of violence and intimidation.
Specifically, he mentioned that the Alekuma North constituency coalition center had to halt operations due to attacks on EC officials.
Mr. Tettey emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and order during the post-election period, appealing to political parties to encourage their supporters to engage in constructive dialogue rather than resorting to violence.
The EC has been working to ensure a credible electoral process. However, the recent incidents of violence have raised concerns about the stability of the electoral environment.
