Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have cautioned individuals who attack state-owned agencies not to take the leniency of the security services for granted.
Rev. Fred Deegbe, Co-chair of CODEO, emphasized that the National Election Security Task Force (NESTF) is committed to preventing post-election violence, reassuring the public of their efforts to maintain peace.
Rev. Deegbe revealed that Ghanaians initially expected the NESTF to retaliate with force in response to recent incidents at state agencies.
However, the Inspector General of Police IGP, Dr George Akufo Dampare briefed CSO leaders on the joint police and military strategy to de-escalate tensions and prevent further casualties.
The courtesy call by CSO heads on the Inspector General of Police and chairman of the elections security task force aims to foster collaboration and ensure calmness during the post-election period.
