Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako, Vice Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), has been honored as the most respected CEO in a public university in Ghana at the 7th Ghana Industry CEO Awards.
This prestigious annual event recognizes outstanding chief executives across various sectors in Ghana.
Professor Asare-Bediako expressed his gratitude, stating that the award acknowledges the institution’s hard work and dedication over the years. He emphasized that this recognition will motivate them to continue making significant contributions to Ghana’s energy ecosystem.
The University of Energy and Natural Resources has made notable strides in research, with many of its findings being adopted by the government to boost the energy sector and promote economic growth.
Additionally, the university has partnered with a German institution to establish a plant that converts waste plants into energy in commercial quantities.
Professor Asare-Bediako appealed to the government to provide ongoing financial support for the university’s research initiatives, enabling Ghana to benefit from their expertise.
He concluded by thanking his family, teaching, and non-teaching staff for their unwavering support in making UENR a beacon of hope for Ghana’s energy sector.
