Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Member of Parliament representing the Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has criticized former President John Mahama for advising NDC MPs not to attend the recall of Parliament.
The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has directed the Minority caucus in Parliament to resist any efforts by the Majority group to reconvene the House before the general elections on December 7.
The Majority caucus recently requested Speaker Alban Bagbin to promptly reconvene Parliament, citing the necessity to address crucial government issues following the indefinite adjournment of the House on November 7.
In an interview with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu expressed his disappointment in former President Mahama for the stance taken by NDC MPs.
“My worry about this thing is about how ex-President Mahama said about it. If we finish the election and the NDC wins, and the majority also refuse to go to Parliament, you can’t be sworn in because there is no budget for that. Do you know what will happen to this country? If it’s not about you, then the country should collapse. That is my worry. John should act as a patriotic and nationalistic Ghanaian. As for this statement, I am hugely disappointed in him.” He stated.
