Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, has expressed confidence that John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will resolve the challenges associated with the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
According to Ablakwa, Mahama’s administration will address the issues plaguing the Free SHS policy, which was introduced by the current NPP government.
Ablakwa’s statement comes on the heels of Mahama’s promise to review the Free SHS policy within the first 100 days of assuming office.
Mahama, during his visit to Agona Asafo in the Central Region as part of his Building Ghana Tour, acknowledged the positive aspects of the Free SHS policy but emphasized the need for a thorough review to enhance its benefits for both students and parents.
He noted that the review would involve stakeholders, including teachers, parents, educationists, and students.
The former President also highlighted the challenges associated with the policy, including the feeding of students. He emphasized that the government must put in place measures to ensure that the benefits of the policy are fully realized.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Ablakwa stipulated that, there is no one who can fix the problems of Free SHS, but the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama.
“John Mahama will fix the problems associated with Free SHS. The best mechanic for free SHS is John Mahama”
According to him, the NDC is the best party to relieve Ghana off the economic woes therefore there is the need for Ghanaians to vote for John Mahama on Decemebr 7 2024 to win power.
