Independent presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen has expressed confidence in winning the upcoming Ghanaian general elections on December 7, 2024.
Despite opinion polls placing him fourth, Kyerematen believes his pedigree, policies, and transformational plan set him apart.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Monday, May 18, 2024, he dismissed the opinion polls as insignificant, stating they don’t reflect the situation on the ground.
“If you go to the grounds and see what’s happening over there, you could realise that the opinion polls are insignificant. The polls don’t represent what is happening on the ground. They sit in their rooms and conduct these polls which doesn’t make sense.” Alan stated when he was asked if he considers opinion polls.
Kyerematen claimed most Ghanaians want change and are willing to sideline the NPP and NDC. He believes he’s the only candidate representing this change.
“Majority of the people want Alan. Eight out of ten Ghanaians want a change so how can you tell me the opinion polls are correct? ”
“Alan is the only candidate representing this change.” He added.
Kyerematen predicted a win in either the first or second round, citing God’s anointing.
“God has already chosen the president, the one who has been anointed has been anointed.
If I don’t win in the first round, I will win in the second round.
It’s either I win one touch or win in the second round. Because if you listen to most Ghanaian voters, they are ready to vote for parliamentary aspirants on a party basis but on the presidential side, they are going to vote for me (Alan).” He disclosed.
He also anticipated “skirt and blouse” voting patterns, where voters choose parliamentary candidates from one party and a presidential candidate from the Movement for Change.
“… We’re going to experience skirt and blouse voting patterns in the December polls,” he added.
