A man has been arrested by the Ashaiman district police for allegedly butchering his wife and months old child.
The suspect perpetrated the crime over suspicion of infidelity on the part of his wife and doubts surrounding the paternity of the child.
According to residents, the man has constantly accused his wife of deceit and threatened to harm her.
Tragically, he carried out his threats and slashed his wife with a machete, before proceeding to kill their child.
He was nabbed by the police upon a tip-off and investigations are underway.
A mammoth crowd gathered as the police removed the dismembered bodies and transported them to the mortuary.
