The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has officially begun a nationwide tour ahead of the December elections.
The first phase of his five-day tour, which began in the Eastern Region will see him visit 15 out of the 33 constituencies in the region.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah who commenced his campaign tour at Adambrobe in the Akuapem South Constituency, while addressing chiefs and people promised to wrestle the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah condemned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for terminating the Adamorobe road contract which started before the NDC left office in 2016.
He assured the chiefs and people of the area that the next NDC government will ensure that contractors return to fix their road which has stalled since 2016.
The national chairman of the NDC also accused government appointees of stealing state money to induce electorates to vote.
He, however, urged the constituents to accept all monetary gifts intended to buy votes but ensure they vote according to the current state of the economy.
“When they bring the money, take it because it’s our taxes. We voted for them to use the taxes to develop the country but if they deliberately use our taxes for their gains, take the monies when they come.
“If they ask you to lay a curse, do it because it’s your own money. Take the money and vote for the NDC.”
