In a momentous occasion, the Kayayei Skills Empowerment Programme, founded by Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, honoured its second cohort of 600 young women graduates on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
This pioneering program equips Kayayei women with essential vocational skills, unlocking their potential for economic independence and self-sufficiency.
Empowerment and Support
Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), praised the graduates for their dedication and outstanding performance.
He expressed heartfelt appreciation to partners and stakeholders who contributed to the program’s success. NEIP has pledged to provide continuous support and monitor the graduates’ progress, ensuring their success in their new ventures.
New Beginnings
Each graduate received a starter pack and a financial boost to launch their businesses. At the ceremony, Mr. Kofi Nkansah Ofosu emphasized that the skills empowerment center will serve as a catalyst for every Kayayei woman who wants to be her own boss.

Rashida Suleman Mohammed, a proud graduate, expressed her deepest gratitude to Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia for his unwavering support in empowering Kayayei women with skills.

1. Soap and detergent making
2. Baking
3. Beads and jewelry making
4. Décor
5. Pedicure and manicure
6. Make-up artistry
