The Presidential Advisor on Health at the Presidency, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, has announced that the Sewua and Afari Military Hospitals will be operational by the end of July and August, respectively.

Dr. Nsiah Asare emphasized that plans are in place to ensure that both facilities are commissioned within this year. During an interview on the Oyerepa Breakfast show with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel on Friday, he elaborated that the Sewua Hospital is fully constructed and equipped with all necessary machinery.

However, it has not been able to operate due to poor road conditions leading to the facility and a lack of electricity.

He informed us that the road has been assigned to a contractor and is currently undergoing construction, as well as the development of a thermal plant to supply electricity to the hospital.

Additionally, Dr. Nsiah Asare stated that the government, via the Ministry of Finance, has allocated funds to the Ministry of Defense to finalize the remaining tasks required for the completion of the military hospital.

“Money has been released to the Ministry of Defense to be given to contractors for the completion of the Afari Military Hospitals

Dr. Nsiah Asare expressed great confidence and optimism when he stated that there will be numerous commissioning ceremonies shortly. The government is aiming to commission at least six significant projects in the Ashanti region this year.

“So there is going to be a lot of commissioning of projects in the Ashanti Region
At least about six of these Agenda 111 projects are going to be fully completed and commissioned by December
including Kunsu Mankranso, Kodie, Trede, Kokoben , Manso Nkwanta and Twedie Hospital” he stated.
