On Thursday, May 16, 2024, a 30-year-old woman named Sarah Abraham, along with her daughter and their entire family, took to the streets to protest against Rev. Patricia Oduro Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa, the General Overseer of the Heaven Way Chapel. The protest was in response to allegations of gold theft, fraud, and an acid assault on Sarah’s daughter.
Sarah explained that the demonstration was aimed at reclaiming her stolen gold and seeking justice for her daughter, who had been attacked with acid, possibly as a result of her efforts to retrieve the precious ornament.
Sarah revealed that the gold had been given to her in a dream by her deceased grandmother, prompting her to seek spiritual assistance from Nana Agradaa. However, Nana Agradaa allegedly demanded GHC1000 for the spiritual performance and later requested an additional GHC4,000 before proceeding with the work. When Sarah was unable to raise the funds, Nana Agradaa refused to return the gold or perform the spiritual ritual.
Sarah emphasized that her main objectives were to recover her gold, seek justice for her daughter, and bring attention to the alleged criminal activities of Rev. Patricia Oduro Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa and Evangelist Mama Pat.
The protest began at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra, with petitions subsequently submitted to the Inspector General of Police, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), the Speaker of Parliament, the Chief Justice, and Peace Watch Ghana.
