Dr. John Halm, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Trobu Constituency, has put forward a solution to address the issue of unemployment among health workers, particularly nurses, by suggesting the idea of exporting some to other countries.
Dr. Halm believes that sending nurses abroad would be a more viable option than allowing them to remain unemployed in Ghana.
He made the suggestion during his visit to the EC office in the Trobu constituency of the Greater Accra Region. A move to oversee the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
According to him, there is a need to export nurses to get employment opportunities after completing their education.
Dr. John Halm emphasized the necessity for the government to invest in infrastructure before implementing any policy or action plan. He pointed out that the reason for the backlog of health professionals who have finished their studies and are still unemployed is due to the lack of facilities to accommodate them.
He also expressed his belief that the double-track system, which has affected the free SHS program, is a result of the current government’s failure to continue and complete the E-blocks initiated by former President John Mahama.
Dr. Halm took the opportunity to encourage eligible Ghanaians to register to vote so that on December 7th, they can show their support for him and former President John Mahama.
He hopes that by electing NDC into power, they can complete all the infrastructure projects that have been left unfinished.
