Hopeson Adorye, a prominent member of the Movement for Change, has strongly criticized Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso constituency, for his behavior during the recent Ejisu by-election.

Adorye alleges that the envelope seen in a video dropped by the Kwadaso MP on the table of EC officials contained money meant to sway individuals to support the NPP candidate in the by-election.

He has condemned Nyarko’s actions and is urging relevant authorities to investigate the matter further, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable and should be treated as a criminal offense.

Speaking in an interview with Kwesi Parker-Wilson, host of Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Mr. Adorye said, “We all saw the Kwadaso MP dropping money on the table. In the whole four years, has any MP ever passed by the EC’s office to give them lunch? Kingsley Nyarko should be arrested and put before court.”

Don’t you know it’s a crime to give money under such circumstances? I believe the envelope contained cash.”

Hopeson also commended independent candidate, Kwabena Aduomi, for giving the ruling party a run for its money despite the defeat.

“In a nutshell, the process has been fine. I will commend my candidate [Kwabena Aduomi] for garnering that number of votes because an individual fighting the state is not easy,” he added.

His remarks follow a video that surfaced online showing the Kwadaso MP, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, dropping an envelope on a table where Electoral Commission (EC) officials were stationed during the Ejisu elections.

The EC’s investigation later revealed that the MP said he told the officials to use the money for their lunch.
