Mr. Andy Nana-Wusu, a social analyst, has issued a challenge to President Akufo-Addo, urging him to dismiss his appointees who were unsuccessful in the NPP primaries if he genuinely intends to combat corruption.
The ruling party held its parliamentary primaries on January 27, with the objective of selecting candidates for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Numerous reports have surfaced indicating that many aspirants distributed significant amounts of money and items. One aspirant even gained viral attention for showcasing a branded 32-inch television.
Juxtaposing the money that the NPP spent during their primaries and the effort by the Akufo-Addo-led government to fight corruption, on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Mr. Andy urged the president to sack his appointees who lost the primaries.
“If you look at the money they spent during their primaries, you ask yourself, “Where do they get the money from?” If the government means business, there are some people the president should sack immediately. Let’s look at the Ashanti region, the MCE for Asokore-Mapong, Sumame MCE, and my own MCE, Kwabre East. If the current administration allows them to remain in office, they will steal a small sum of money for development in order to repay their debt.” He told Kwesi Parker-Wilson host of the show.
