Former NPP Chairman of the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, affectionately called COKA, has expressed admiration for two remarkable Ghanaian women, Afua Asantewaa and Failatu Abdul-Razak, for their outstanding achievements in reaching the international stage through their attempts to break Guinness World Records.
Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, a broadcast journalist, recently undertook a five-day singing marathon that commenced at midnight on Sunday, December 24, 2023, with the aim of surpassing the previous record of 105 hours set by Indian artiste Sunil Waghmare in 2012. She concluded her remarkable feat at 7:00 am on Friday, December 29, 2023, having recorded an impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes.
Meanwhile, Chef Faila embarked on a 10-day cook-a-thon at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, starting on January 1, 2024, in an effort to break the current record of 119 hours held by Irish chef Alan Fisher. With the support of her assistant, Chef Malik Eric, she achieved an astonishing 227 hours.
In light of these extraordinary accomplishments, COKA took to his Facebook page to commend these exceptional women.
He believes that their pursuit of breaking the Guinness World Record serves as a powerful testament to the limitless possibilities that exist in our world
“Afua Asantewaa and Faila, Guinness record breakers, have proven that there is nothing impossible.” He wrote.
He added tha, “These proud Ghanaian women have also proven that with determination and focus, everything on this earth is possible. Medically, it was impossible for a human being not to sleep for 5 days or more, but they made it possible.”
Appreciating the remarkable performance of Afua Asantewaa and Faila in relation to Dr. Bawumia’s presidential slogan, “It’s Possible,” Odeneho Kwaku Appiah emphasized that their success was not easily attained. They worked hard and therefore deserve recognition and praise.
“It reminds me of Dr. Bawumia telling Ghanaians that in his term as president of Ghana, everything will be possible. Impossible will be the thing of the past.
One thing that we should all know and learn is that they never achieved it on a silver platter. There was pain and suffering.”
“Congratulations to Afua and Faila and Ghanaians for their support; sports and entertainment always bring us together, so let’s invest more in that area. God bless our homeland, Ghana.” Coka posted.
