The Queen Mother of Apromase-Asawase in the Ejisu Municipal of the Ashanti Region, Nana Koansan II, has cut sod for the construction of a merchandised borehole for Asawase M/A Primary School.
The primary objective of this project is to provide clean and safe drinking water to the students of the school. The initiative, which commenced on December 5, 2023, is expected to be completed within 7 days.
In an interview with Oyerepa News, Nana Koansan II emphasized the crucial role education plays in the development of any community. Recognizing this, she felt compelled to establish the commercial borehole to cater to the needs of the school children when approached for assistance.
“The development of every community largely depends on education, therefore I deemed it very necessary to construct a merchandised borehole for Asawase M/A when they called upon me.”
“I’m expecting the contractor to complete the project within one week.” She added.
The Apromase Hemaa however advised the pupils to study very hard to become great people in the society.
“I’m pleading with the pupils to take education seriously because I want someone from this school to become Member of Parliament (MP) in the future.”
Nana Koansan II subsequently appealed to the government to build a Junior High School in the Asawase community.
The Headmaster of Asawase M/A Primary School, Mr. Erasmus Osei Agyemang, expressed his admiration for Nana Koansan II’s generous act. He emphasized the importance of constructing a fence wall to prevent future accidents, considering the school’s proximity to the roadside. Mr. Agyemang suggested that the government, private individuals, or NGOs should contribute to this initiative.
