Martha Ankomah, one of Ghana’s most respected female celebrities, recently shared her criteria for joining a movie’s cast. In her view, if a movie fails to discourage evil and promote personal and national advancement, it is simply pointless and a waste of her valuable time.
This revelation came to light during Martha Ankomah’s appearance on Accra 100.5 FM’s midmorning program, Ayekoo Ayekoo, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. The host, Akua Sonto, inquired about whether the esteemed Ghanaian actress had ever turned down lucrative movie roles prior to her career as a producer.
“I’ve rejected a lot of roles… Basically, I look at the storyline and the script. If I read the script and there’s no sense in it, I will not join the cast.” She answered
She explained further, “There are movies that go around in circles and seem aimless. You find no sound advice in them”.
They’re not something that the youth can learn productive things from. So any movie without a good moral lesson, I reject.” She added
