Andy Kankam, Editor of the Informer Newspaper, has also added his voice to the recent utterances from presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong, saying he sees nothing threatening about what he said.
In a video that has since gone viral from the NPP’s Super Delegates Conference, presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong was captured on tape issuing words of caution to President Akuffo Addo and his vice president, Dr. Bawumia, for allegedly chasing his agent away from the election grounds last Saturday.
Reacting to this incident in an interview granted on the Oyerepa Breakfast show Tuesday morning, the Informer Newspaper Editor explained that there is nothing absolutely wrong or threatening about what Kennedy Agyapong said to the President and his Vice President.
“I don’t see anything wrong or threatening with a showdown. This is not the first time we have heard such a comment,” he stated.
According to the editor of the Informer Newspaper, President Akuffo Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia have serious business at hand that needs much focus and attention rather than spending time on what he sees as no threat, as Kennedy Agyapong said.
“I don’t think the President and his Vice would want to waste their time on these comments while they have important things to take care of; the poverty is too much, and that is what they should think about.”
“But in the bigger picture, this is someone who wants to occupy the presidential seat of this country,” he stated.
Andy Kankam explained that “the NPP party has its own rules and regulations, and they have every right to sanction Hon according to the party’s constitution, but I will tell you that in the bigger picture, Ghana is a serious country, and we are talking about Kwame Nkrumah’s government.”
However, he cautioned Ghanaians to stop comparing the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, to Kennedy Agyapong, saying in his words that Donald Trump never used insults as Kennedy Agyapong is seen doing in Ghana.
“Let us not compare Donald Trump to Kennedy Agyapong. Donald Trump was not seen insulting but was setting agendas,” he noted.
