A prominent legal practitioner, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, has swiftly responded to the recent attack by Presidential Hopeful Kennedy Agyapong on President Akuffo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia.
During the Super Delegates ballot last Saturday, Kennedy Agyapong made threatening remarks towards President Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia. This was in response to a report that one of his agents had been forcibly removed by individuals allegedly associated with the President and his vice.
In an interview on the Oyerepa Breakfast Show on Monday, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw expressed his belief that Kennedy Agyapong should be disqualified.
“The nation should disqualify Kennedy Agyapong. This is not a party issue is a national issue. Therefore we must treat it as such and make sure he doesn’t occupy the Presidential position” he said.
“The personalities of these Presidential aspirants should be checked well by Ghanaians and see how they are going to behave when they finally occupy the big seat of the nation.
We have to look at the character of the person who wants to become the President…Kennedy Agyapong is not someone who should occupy the office of the President” he added.
He, however, called on National Security to take up this case as a matter of urgency and call Kennedy Agyapong to order.
“In any serious country Kennedy Agyapong should have been called by the National security for his words against the President and his Vice ….How can you say this to the president?”…he questioned.
