The police at Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Upper Denkyira East District of the Central Region on Friday, arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife at Atachem, a suburb of Dunkwa-on-Offin.
The suspect whose name is yet to be known allegedly killed his wife called Gifty after a short misunderstanding that ensued between them.
Both suspects and the deceased are said to be from Wassa-Saa in the Western Region where they were living together.
The deceased is said to have gone to Dunkwa-on-Offin to look for a job in a mining company few days ago, but the man followed up on Friday to convince her to come back home.
The suspect is said to have succeeded in taking the wife to Dunkwa-Atachem near the Subin River, and allegedly killed her and tried to escape from the crime scene.
But he was accosted by some scrap dealers who saw blood stains on him and interrogated him. However, the suspect claimed he was stabbed by someone who attempted to rob him.
But the scrap dealers were not convinced by that and arrested him and handed him over to the police. Following investigation, it emerged that he had killed his wife in a bush.
