Okofo Dr. Twum Barimah V, Chief of Assin Dansame in the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region has fumed at a widely circulated reportage which depicts him to have endorsed Charles Opoku, candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area’s pending by-election.
According to him, he is chief for all with an opened arms to every individual devoid of the person’s political affiliation.
He emphasized being forbidden from engaging in politics being the chief he is having unfortunately been touted as such.
The learned chief rubbished the claim in press briefing held at his confinement in Dansame.
Okofo Twum Barimah at the presser debunked ever standing anywhere to campaign either for the NPP or for Charles Opoku in the ensuing by-election.
He shared his grief on how the media has twisted his previous meetings with the NPP candidate to have him tagged as a staunch NPP member.
He again stated that the Assin North by-election has helped communities within the constituency gotten developmental projects it wouldn’t have witnessed on a normal day.
Highlighting, the by-election has engineered his community (Assin Dansame) to gain access to street lights and also have their abandoned durbar grounds attended upon as political parties troop to the area day and canvass for votes.
He then appealed to the NPP party to redeem its promise made to the people of Dansame to establish a mining scheme in the community.
