More than 200 residents of Musunkwa in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency have received free medical screening for various health conditions under the auspices of the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Elvis Morris Donkoh.
The medical outreach program is part of a health train that moves from community to community within his constituency, ensuring that everyone has access to quality healthcare, regardless of their economic situation.
During the screening, residents were tested for a range of conditions, including high blood pressure, malaria, hepatitis B, and diabetes. Eye screenings were also conducted, and new health insurance cards were issued to those in need. Even children in the constituency were not left out of the exercise.
Speaking to the press, Elvis emphasized that the exercise is part of his ongoing engagement with his constituents, and his commitment to interacting with them as the year unfolds.
He believes that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, and he is determined to make that a reality for the people of Musunkwa.
Mrs Naomi Adjei Konadu, Director of We Care Foundation, commended the MP for his efforts, stating that they would go a long way in complementing their work to provide quality healthcare services for the people of Musunkwa.
She noted that the most prevalent diseases recorded at the end of the program were high blood pressure, followed by malaria and some respiratory diseases.
Beneficiaries of the program expressed their gratitude to the MP for the yearly activity, saying that it had helped them over the years to know their health statuses for better treatment.
Mrs Konadu advised constituents to exercise regularly, watch their diet, and visit health facilities to have their health concerns addressed.
