Commercial Director of New Okaff Industries Limited, Oduyefo Kwasi Adomako Boamah, has lamented how several inorganic fertilizers are degrading farmlands in Ghana.
In recent years, Ghanaian farmers have increasingly decried the low yields of their farm produce.
Subsequently, the New Okaff Commercial Director has revealed that, the consistent usage of inorganic fertilizers are resulting in the low yields.
According to him, the acidic content in those inorganic Fertilizers is very high and therefore is degrading the lands as well as destroying crops.
“The acidic content in a lot of inorganic Fertilizers is too high. It degrades farmlands. Some inorganic agrochemicals go to the extent of destroying crops.”
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) has declared its mission to enhance Agric via the use of Organic Fertilizers in the country. Thus; ‘Ghana Goes Organic’ project which started last month.
Oduyego Adomako Boamah believes that, the MOFA initiative will help farmers to produce more crops.
Speaking to Oyerepa Online in an interview, he declared that, his outfit has manufactured an Organic Fertilizer and insecticide (Af Confidence & AF Organic Fertilizer) at an affordable cost to help farmers acquire more yields.
“New Okaff Industries has manufactured Organic Fertilizers and insecticides (Af Confidence & AF Organic Fertilizer) for farmers. Our agrochemicals maintain crops, leading to an abundance of yields. They are affordable as well.” Oduyefo Boamah disclosed.
