Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has apologized to fans of the club for their unimpressive performance in the ongoing season.
The Porcupine Warriors have a limited chance of retaining the Ghana Premier League title, trailing by eight points to Aduana Stars, who lead the log with 52 points with four matches to end the season.
They could end without a trophy after suffering elimination from the CAF Champions League and the FA Cup as well.
In an interview with Sometymer, host of Oyerepa Sports, Nana Yaw Amponsah begged Kotoko fans for forgiveness.
“I will thank Kotoko fans for the support thus far; without them, we wouldn’t have been where we are. We are sorry for the disappointment this season. Regardless of everything, we need their support because a friend in need is indeed a friend indeed. We will plead with them to have patience with us and the players. It is painful,” Nana Yaw Amponsah said.
Kotoko is currently in sixth place with 44 points after 30 games and has failed to win any of their last three matches in the competition.
They will engage the Kotoku Royals in their next fixture at Dawu Park.
