Lawyer Kweku Amoh Dartey, a campaign team member for Kennedy Agyapong, an aspiring presidential candidate for the governing New Patriotic Party, has disclosed that his boss has set up an investigation team to probe into the death of Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
It could be recall that Ahmed Hussein-Suale, an undercover investigative journalist with the Tiger Eye Private Investigations led by Anas was murdered on Wednesday, 16 January 2019. He was shot three times while in his vehicle twice in the chest and once in the neck by two unidentified men on motorbikes.
Suale met his untimely death after Kennedy Agyapong, who is seeking to contest for flagbearer of the NPP, called for retribution against him on his own television station, Net 2 TV.
Many Ghanaians believed that the legislator was responsible for the murder of the late undercover journalist; therefore, the safety of journalists in the country will be at stake when he (Kennedy Agyapong) becomes President.
But the Assin Central MP has on many platforms denied claims that he is not responsible for Suale’s death.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Lawyer Dartey questioned why his boss (Kennedy Agyapong) will be against journalist while he has Media Company in the country.
“Anyone who says journalists will not be safe under Kennedy as president does not understand him. He has a TV station (Net 2, Ashh FM, and Nap Radio) and those working there are journalists, for whom Ken is paying, and he is using the media to project Ghana to the world, particularly the NPP. So how can such a person hate journalists?” Lawyer Dartey quizzed.
He explained that his boss’ utterance has no connection with the murder of Suale.
“There is no linkage between Ken’s utterance and Suale’s murder. In law, evidence must have a material connectivity to the incident. With Sule’s case, Kennedy Agyapong took it upon himself to task people to investigate the matter to clear his name.” The campaign team member told Kwesi Parker-Wilso host of the show.
