One person has been reported dead following a crash at the Suame roundabout in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital.
When a passenger wanted to alight, the vehicle travelling from Tafo to Kejetia failed to stop at the Suame roundabout after the driver had tried to apply the brake.
To save the lives of the passengers onboard, the driver tried to steer to the shoulder of the road to avoid causing an accident but instead crashed into traders in the early hours of Thursday morning, having killed one person instantly.
Two other traders are in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The driver has been arrested while the vehicle has been impounded by the police at Suame Divisional command.
