From a sex video, which is currently in circulation on social media where two lovers who were enjoying their adventure in Lake Bosomtwe were heard crying for mercy from the gods who had caused their genitals to get stuck.
Although efforts were been made to pull the male out of the female, the excruciating pain became unbearable as the young man kept shouting “3sheshe me” to wit I’m going through some much pain, “aka mu, aka mu, awurade hu me m) b)” literally, “it’s stuck God, please have mercy on me.”
It is believed that their immoral act angered the lake god who punished them to serve as a deterrent to others.
Nevertheless, the Assemblymember for Abono electoral area in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti region, Mr James Kwasi Addai, has debunked the video, claiming “it is not real.”
“There is no truth in the Lake Bosomtwe Atopa video, it is a movie, and they shot it about 5 days ago……If it was true, many residents of Abono would have gone to the scene but looking at the video, you could see only 6 people, so it is not true they had sex in the lake.” Mr James Kwasi Addai told Nana Asante Soaba host of Oyerepa FM show, “Mpanin Atenase” in an exclusive interview on Monday night.
According to him, he saw the video on social media so he asked his boys at Abono information center and those at Lake Inn Hotel who confirmed that, the director (name unknown) and his crew came to shoot the video about five days ago.
The Abono assembly member revealed on the show that, the movie director did not seek permission from authorities of Abono to shoot the movie, if he had done that, they would not have permitted him to shoot it.
“They didn’t tell anyone because we wouldn’t have allowed them to shoot it if they had told us.
He further declared that “I have lived at Abono for not less than 25 years now, nothing of the sort has ever happened in Lake Bosomtwe.”
The assembly member declared on the “Mpanin Atenase’ show that, the case has been reported to the District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe District and they are looking forward to arresting the director of the movie as soon as possible because what he has done has brought a shame to the popular lake in the country.
“I have reported the case to DCE and we are looking forward to arresting the movie director for putting Lake Bosomtwe into disrepute.”
Lake Bosomtwe
Lake Bosumtwe is the only natural lake in Ghana. It is situated within an ancient impact crater that is about 10.5 kilometers in diameter. It is about 30 km south-east of Kumasi the capital of Ashanti and is a popular recreational area.
The Ashanti consider Bosumtwe a sacred lake. According to traditional belief, the souls of the dead come here to bid farewell to the goddess Asase Ya. Because of this, it is considered permissible to fish in the lake only from wooden planks.
