The General Overseer of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Apostle Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has rubbished claims that he prophesied on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Usman Nuhu Sharubutu during his 31st December night service.
He denied strongly making remarks circulating about the Muslim community leader.
The controversial man of God is alleged to have said that the “National Chief Imam and other leaders consult him to look into their destinies”.
But in a statement copied to peacefmonline.com, Rev. Owusu Bempah said the allegation and caption making rounds are misleading.
“Our attention was drawn to the misleading caption and false article by www.ghanaweb.com in the late afternoon of 3rd January 2023 when an official from the office of the Chief Imam by the name Sheikh Aremeyaw, spokesperson of the National Chief Imam, called to inform the office of the church of the publication on www.ghanaweb.com and sought to ascertain its veracity.” A portion of his statement read

The office of the National Chief Imam, wants the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Christian fraternity to call the head of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah to order as the former continues to make His Eminence a subject of controversial prophecies.
In the interest of national unity, peace, and harmony, he should desist from mistaking the meekness of His Eminence as weakness, a statement issued by the personal assistant to the national chief Imam, Dr. Mohammed Marzuq Abubakari Azindoo cautioned.
“We wish to state that all the claims of Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah contain no iota of truth, but represent the figment of his own imagination.
“Undoubtedly, His Eminence is a champion of interfaith harmony and peaceful co-existence. But he does not seek protection and prosperity from charlatans on the pulpit. As a true icon of faith, His Eminence is guided by the divine words that “… Allah is sufficient for any person who relies on Him.” (Quran 65: 3).
“Conclusively, we stand – at all times – for interfaith solidarity and national unity, as we contribute our quota to the building of a prosperous democratic state of diverse religious communities.”

RESPONSE TO PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL CHIEF IMAM ON AN ALLEGED PROPHECY BY APOSTLE DR. ISAAC OWUSU BEMPAH.
The attention of the church has been drawn to a press statement from the Office of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Usman Nuhu Sharubutu dated 4th January, 2023.
The press statement refers to some publications in which the General Overseer of the Church, Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah is alleged to have made remarks concerning the Chief Imam which the Office of the National Chief Imam considers to be disparaging of him.
Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah is alleged to have remarked that the “National Chief Imam and other leaders consult him to look into their destinies”.
To begin with, the press statement arises from a misleading and false article published on www.ghanaweb.com on 3rd January, 2023 with the caption “Chief Imam, other leaders visit us to look into their destinies – Owusu Bempah claims”.
Our attention was drawn to the misleading caption and false article by www.ghanaweb.com in the late afternoon of 3rd January, 2023 when an official from the office of the Chief Imam by the name Sheikh Aremeyaw, spokesperson of the National Chief Imam, called to inform the office of the church of the publication on www.ghanaweb.com and sought to ascertain its veracity.
We explained to Sheikh Aremeyaw, that the caption of the article was misleading and the content littered with falsehoods. We urged the spokesperson to listen to the statement himself and form an independent opinion of the remarks of Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah. The conversation was very friendly and he seemed to have appreciated the position of the church on the misleading caption and false article by www.ghanaweb.com.
It comes as a shock to us that in spite of the cordiality and harmony which exists between the office of the National Chief Imam and Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah and after all assurances given by us, the former issued a strong worded press statement with very unpleasant descriptions of Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah.
We wish to state emphatically that Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah has not at anytime claimed that the Chief Imam visits or consults him to look into his destiny. The publication
was clearly actuated by malice, a desire for profit, sensationalism and calculated to disrupt the peaceful and cordial relationship between the Chief Imam and Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah.
What Apostle Dr. Owusu Bempah mentioned in one of his sermons which has been twisted and misrepresented was the visit he made to the residence of the Chief Imam upon his invitation sometime in 2019 and communication which ensued between them.
We wish to put on record, that as a church we take serious exceptions to the description of our General Overseer as a “Charlatan on the pulpit” among other distasteful words. We revere and hold our General Overseer in high esteem as much as we love and respect his Eminence the National Chief Imam.
Contrary to the distasteful words used in describing Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah, we like to affirm that our General Overseer is a genuine Man of God with unblemished international reputation and a track record of immense positive contribution to the Christian faith in Ghana and beyond.
Further, we will like to take this opportunity to entreat journalists and bloggers to desist from making sensation driven publications and falsehoods which could potentially affect the peace and harmony in society.
Finally, we take this opportunity to urge his Eminence the National Chief Imam to disregard the falsehoods peddled about Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah in the interest of fostering brotherly co-existence, harmony and peace.
Now let the peace of God which surpasses all understanding keep our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen
Rev. Dr. Emmanuel A. Annorbah (ACII-G)
