Mr. Evans Nunu, an economist, has said that he does not understand why the majority is keen on getting Ken Ofori Atta, the finance minister, out of office when he is not the only person to be blamed for the economic woes of the nation.
Speaking in an interview with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, the economist added that the finance minister only acted as the accountant of the nation, while the economic management team headed by the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, were the actual handlers of the economy.
“Even if the finance minister is dismissed, it would not automatically turn the economy around if the members of the economic management team are not removed also,” he said.
Mr. Nunu said Ofori Atta only acts on the policies drawn by the economic management team, and therefore the majority of MPs should re-direct their push for the finance minister’s dismissal if their goal is to see the economy get back on track.
