After visiting the team ahead of their first match against Portugal on Thursday evening, Sulley Muntari is expected to cheer them on.
The 38-year-old has been meeting with members of the Stars and coaches in preparation for the massive clash with one of the European bigwigs.
Muntari is one of many former players who have flocked to the team’s hotel in Doha to show their support.
Muntari, who is on the verge of retiring from football, was a poster boy for the Black Stars during his prime.
In 2010, the erstwhile AC Milan and Inter Milan star managed to score in Ghana’s controversial penalty kick loss to Uruguay.
Nevertheless, four years later, he was fired from Ghana’s camp for violently attacking former Black Stars management committee member, Moses Armah.
Ghana takes on Portugal on Thursday evening at the 974 stadium in Doha.
