A security analyst, Adib Saani, says he has no trust in the office of the special prosecutor to fight the corruption canker in the country.
President Akufo-Addo directed the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, to investigate Charles Adu Boahen over allegations of corruption leveled against him.
This follows the president’s dismissal of the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance after he was implicated in a yet-to-be-aired undercover investigative documentary by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In response to the president’s directive on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Mr. Saani stated that he does not trust the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
“As for the SP, I don’t have trust in that office.” It’s purely a political office. They will drag out the case for so long that it will amount to nothing. Who appointed the special prosecutor?” He quizzed.
He further called on the President to arrest Charles Adu Boahen if he’s indeed committed to fighting corruption.
“The politicians have a strategy when corruption issues become topical and the media is talking about them; they will try to do something.” “The president should ensure that Charles Adu Boahen is arrested immediately to prove that he is indeed committed to fighting corruption and to serve as a deterrent to other public officers because nothing would come out of the OSP.” he told Kwesi Parker Wilson, the host of the show.
