Akwasi Kwarteng, the Ministry of Education’s spokesperson, has stated that his organization and the Finance Ministry will quickly address the requirements of the country’s various colleges of education.
His remarks are in response to a press release issued by the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) requesting permission for students at these colleges to fend for themselves.
In an interview with Oyerepa Breakfast Show, Akwasi Kwarteng revealed all of these issues are the direct consequence of food supplies not being able to supply due to a lack of funding from the Ministry.
He reaffirmed that the Ministry already has reimbursed all semester’s food items to the numerous Colleges of Education, and that they are once again getting ready to settle all payments for this semester.
“The suppliers always supply food items to these colleges after the government has released money to them,” he said.
“The Ministry of Education and finance will immediately team up and address this issue to help curtail any further occurrence of distractions” he added.
He reiterated that the Ministry will discharge the budget allocation to the suppliers as soon as possible so that they can also provide the food items to these institutions.
