The Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency in the Bono Region, Ahmed Ibrahim has indicated that the majority of NDC MPs are in support of Johnson Asiedu Nketia becoming the National Chairman of their party.
Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who is the current General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, has launched his chairmanship ambition today in Accra today.
The Deputy Minority Whip, speaking with Kwesi Parker-Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Tuesday, October 25, revealed that General Mosquito, as popularly known, is more competent to lead the NDC.
“Asiedu Nketia is most competent to chair the NDC for the 2024 election. In 2020, Asiedu Nketia formed his campaign team to tour the country. He came to my constituency. We don’t need an executive who will follow the flagbearer.”
He (Asiedu Nketia) was the only person who was in parliament when the 8th parliament was in chaos, and this man risked his life for the party while other executives were asleep. I can tell you most of the majority MPs are in support of Asiedu Nketia becoming chairman of the party (NDC).”
The NDC will hold its national congress on December 17 to elect national executives.
