Mr Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (Coka) is a Ghanaian politician, a businessman and once an aspiring Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region.
According to Coka, nothing has been accomplished to date in the battle against galamsey because the problem has been politicized more than assumed.
Chairman Coka stated on the Oyerepa Breakfast Morning show that the combat against galamsey will never be realistic until Ghanaians quit blaming political parties.
“I can’t say no NPP or NDC member is involved in galamsey … there are members of these political parties involved in the act,” he said.
Meanwhile, he believes that it’s the character of Ghanaians that shows whether we can fight this canker.
Most officials in charge of mining supervisory claim not to have seen all those involved in this heinous crime, which he believes is annihilating the country.
Nonetheless, he reaffirmed that mining is never wrong in Ghana because Ghanaians are endowed with these minerals, but the issue is the extraction method.
As a result, he urged all Ghanaians to join the President in the fight against galamsey, as this is the only means the menace could be completely eliminated.
