Former Afigya Kwabre South constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party {NPP} Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, aka Coka, has indicated that the candidate to lead the party ahead of the 2024 polls is already known.
Many personalities within the party, specifically, Vice President Bawumia, Alan Kyeremateng, Kennedy Agyapong and others have expressed interest in running for the party’s flagbearership.
Some executives of the party already have endorsed Bawumia and Alan who stand in a greater position to become NPP’s flagbearer in the post-Akufo-Addo era.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, Monday, the former Afigya Kwabre South NPP Chairman indicated that, despite many endorsing their preferred candidates, the party, in general, knows who is going to lead.
According to him, the top hierarchy of the NPP knows who is fit for the flagbearship position.
“I believe very well that, our party leaders have already seen who is going to lead us. I’ve seen him myself. Even if you ask me to pronounce his name, I will, I’ve nothing to loose.”
He was quick to warn that, members of the party, especially ministers and Members of Parliament should step up their work because Ghanaian voters will judge the party in 2024 based on their (MPs/Ministers) performances.
“… all party members must be careful, especially our ministers and MPs. If we can win in 2024, it will depend on our performance. For this reason, those who have been given positions should not joke, they need to work very hard, because Ghanaian voters will judge us by our performance in government today.” Coka asserted.
