A 20-year-old house help has been allegedly murdered by her mistress, Mama Janet, at Awomaso in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti region.
The deceased, Akua Kyem, died on Monday around 1 am after the suspects allegedly assaulted and inflected cutlass wounds on her.
Oyerepa News’s Asonaba Dehyie reported that the suspect claimed the deceased returned home in the late hours of Saturday with cutlass wounds, but upon a search by the police, they discovered a stick and a cutlass with blood on the edges.
An eyewitness who spoke with Asonaba said that the suspect always beat the deceased and that this was the second time it has happened.
The suspect disclosed that the deceased was brought to her by a male friend who is an uncle of the deceased.
According to the family of the deceased, they were not aware that their daughter was staying with the suspect.
The suspect has been arrested by the Ejisu Divisional Police Command for investigation.
