A National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team member, Ivan Bilson has lambasted people who are blaming former President Mahama’s administration for the current economic crisis in the country.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia since assuming office in 20216 have consistently blamed Mahama for their mismanagement of the country’s economy.
Six years down the line, the NPP claims if Mahama had managed the economy well, they wouldn’t be facing economic problems, their ‘economic Messiah’ Dr Bawumia would be able to “catch the dollar” bringing down the high inflation as he promised.
But speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time hosted by Somtymer Otuo Acheampong, the NDC communication member stated that, people who are blaming Mahama for NPP’s woes have lost their minds and must seek remedy at a psychiatric centre.
According to him, it will be very insane for anybody to blame the NPP’s mismanagement on Mahama.
“If you continue to blame Mahama for Ghana’s economic crisis under Akufo-Addo then there’s something wrong with your brain, you must be taken to the Psychiatrist for treatment,” he said.
Ivan expressed that Ghanaians and for that matter, the NPP folks should rather blame Nana Addo and Bawumia for their mismanagement which has led to the high rate of inflation in the country.
He said the NPP must take responsibility for their failures rather than diverting blames on Mahama, the Ukraine war and covid-19.
Ghana’s inflation rate is currently at 31.7 per cent influenced by high rising food and fuel costs.
However, the managers of the economy headed by Vice President Dr Bawumia and Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta say, ex-president Mahama, Covid-19 and the Ukraine war are the factors of their inability to control the economy.
