The National Chairman of the opposition Nation Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has stated the level at which the economic crunch is negatively impacting on Ghanaian is worrying.
He said the Akufo-addo led government has totally failed Ghanaians. Their entire flagship programs have failed.
Speaking in exclusive interviews with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, the NDC Chairman stated the economic hardship is killing Ghanaians more than the Covid 19 pandemic.
“The number of people who are dying out of poverty as a result of the economic hardship is more than that of covid. We are in economic hardship pandemic which is killing people.
He questioned why President Akufo-Addo is quiet as the hardship, stress, pressure is killing people. The price of patrol, things increasing everyday.
“If Angel Gabriel and Michael had descended from heaven to prophesied to me that the price of fuel will be increased to this level, I wouldn’t believe it. When NDC was exiting in 2016 the dollar was around 4.30 but the NPP bragged to arrest the dollar when Ghanaians vote for them. Today, it is more to GHc10, I don’t know if the NPP is using the dollar to ‘break the 8’ they are preaching.”
He lamented that he spend closed to GHc2000 to fill his 4×4 vehicle.
Mr. Ampofo disclosed that most of the big business men in Accra have parked their cars because of the fuel price.
