Businessman Papa Kwesi Nduom has said some people, with the support of ministers of state, armed soldiers and police personnel, are annexing a property belonging to GN Reinsurance within the heart of Accra.
Dr Nduom wrote on Facebook that the company owns a parcel of land near the Trust Towers at Adabraka.
“The company has valid land documents appropriately registered. It has recently built a wall to protect the land and has the design ready for a permit to begin construction”, he indicated.
However, he noted, “some people, sometimes, citing a deputy minister, another time flashing a minister around”, are “using people with guns from the military and police to chase the company’s security away in broad daylight”.
He said this happened “not once but multiple times”.
“What gives people the nerve, impudence to walk around and feel entitled to take what’s not theirs?” the former presidential candidate wondered.
He said: “We have been silent but we are not going away”, adding: “We will protect what’s ours”.
“The law cannot be trampled upon with such impunity”, he said.
“And those who have already commandeered some of our lands elsewhere and built on them, must not think that we are not aware of what they have done. The day of reckoning will come. There is a time and a season for everything under the sun”.
