The Ashanti Regional Director of NADMO has stated directly and explicitly that the situation which emanated yesterday while they were sharing food in the Asokwa Metropolis and its environs.
Addressing Oyerepa F. M. on what happened and the way forward, Mr. Ernest Nana Yaw Amoako, the Ashanti Regional Director of NADMO, accepted blame for not being able to put measures in place early on to address issues of overcrowding as part of the National Disaster Management Organisation’s (N. A. D. M. O.’s) to share food in some parts of the Ashanti region.
According to the Ashanti Regional Director of NADMO, the overcrowding which happened, which is against World Health Organisation’s precautionary measure of Social Distancing, a radio station in the metropolis announced their (NADMO’s) intention of sharing food at Asokwa and its environs, which informed the situation.
Mr. Amoako stated unambiguously “What happened at Asokwa yesterday will not happen again. It will not repeat itself.”
