The Ministry of National Security has spotted the movement of a group of persons in the mountains of Bunkprungu-Nankpanduri District in the North-East Region.
A similar suspicious movement was also noticed at Garu in the Upper East Region.
The Ministry in a statement signed by Amb. Ma. General Francis Adu Amanfoh disclosed that members of the group, aboard motorbikes, have been seen dressed in apparel covering their faces and headed for the mountainous area in the Garu District.
The Ministry has, therefore, alerted the Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) for their urgent action.
The Ministry of National Security barely a fortnight ago launched the “See Something, Say Something Campaign ” which is intended to raise public alertness on the activities of extremists.
