Authorities of Ghana Railway Company have demolished more than 100 structures at Kaase STP in the Asokwa Municipal of the Ashanti Region.
The demolition exercise took place earlier on, May 13th 2022.
Authorities of the railway company accompanied by the police and military taskforce destroyed the buildings erected by squatters on the Kumasi-Kaase railway line.
Their action comes few days after thieves went to steal some equipments belonging to the railway company. The thieves also siphoned fuel from the company’s excavator.
Almost one hundred structures demolished by the taskforce.
But the squatters at Kaase STP have condemned the action of the railway company.
According to them, it will be very difficult to get accommodation now that, their structures are destroyed.
