“People in various Zongo Communities in Ghana are very creative; I will develop their talents when I get the opportunity to become President.” Mr Akwesi Addai Odike, Presidential Candidate of the United Front Party (UFP) has said.
The Ghanaian businessman and politician believe that the move will help the nation to accelerate in development should it focus on budding and polishing vocational skills of the people living in Zongos.
The people living in Zongo have been tagged in Ghana for been interested in violence than education. However, Odike believes that the narrative has changed. He said people living in Zongos have special talents which need attention.
He said, “Zongo need vocational and technical education.” The people living in Zongo communities have a special gift in terms of vocation which the nation must exploit.
According to him, the Zongo people are super in terms of technical and vocational skills so there’s a need for the government to build big schools in their communities, and equip them with big machines so as to polish their craftwork.
“We need to build big schools, equip them with big machinery so as to publish their vocational skills,” Odike stated on Oyerepa TV/FM morning show, Wednesday 4th May 2022.
The UFP leader added that, if the country is able to adequately train the Zongos, technically and vocationally, they will be able to invent products for the country to export to the international markets.
