Ghanaian actor and politician, John Dumelo have given some insights into the Ghanaian movie industry.
According to him, the emergence of digital outlets for movies is a major contributor to the fragile film industry.
The reason majority of Ghanaians are not able to view the films made.
“I think the reason is that we have not been able to migrate from the analogue period to the digital age. In the past, it was CD’s but now most of the films are online and most Ghanaians are not getting access to the online markets which is a big challenge to the industry”. The veteran actor stated.
He also admitted the Ghana’s movie industry is not doing well but claims it hasn’t lost their relevance at all.
“The Ghana movie industry is not dead. Though it is not the way it was some years ago but it is still running. This is why we say the industry is not well, but things are really going on,” he stated in a recent interview.
